The type 5 abrasive wheel is designed for all types of machining (rough, intermediate, finishing) of carbon steel, alloy steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals and non-metals. It is used on snagging grinders, tool and cutter grinders, crankshaft grinders, and universal grinders.
Choosing a cylindrical shape reduces the weight of the abrasive wheel and improves the center of gravity, increasing the rigidity of the grinder-wheel-workpiece system.
